I’ve had this since mid March and wanted to give an honest review.
Once upon a time there was a family with two dogs, one a 6 y old GSD and the other a 3 yr old lab. These babies created several situations:
1. The GSD barks at all the dragons passing outside the living room window, the lab joins in with a very loud howl. When they are really amped up, it is impossible to hear yourself think. Coaxing with attention or treats has not been effective.
2. When the neighbors dog is outside the GSD decides it’s time for cardio and runs and barks up and down that side of the fence (there is no longer any grass there). The GSD simply looks at me when called, I can hear her saying ‘I’m having fun here, later for you’ and continues running and barking until her tongue is hanging out. Years of trying to get her to stop this has not stopped the behavior.
3. The GSD LOVES car rides but, barks at people walking on the sidewalk and at anyone who looks at her, she lives by Stranger = Danger policy. Again the Lab being a good brother joins her with the howling, imagine driving with that song being sung at full volume in your ear.
After trying various ways to stop these behaviors I decided to try this. I’ve used the ‘silent’ sound to stop them from barking at the dragons passing our house or delivering packages, they are getting better with just a shhhh. The GSD will stop running and barking at the neighbors dog and come into the house when called with this device. And… we’re still working on the singing in the car.
I really love this training aid. It is lightweight and is not too big for my small hands. The two modes are nice to have. The beeping works for the GSD but not the LAB, the ultrasonic mode works for both. We take this on walks and the flashlight is nice to have for our night time walks. 10+ points for the USB-C charging. I’ve only charged it once since getting it so battery life seems great. Overall this is a great addition to the various tools, devices and training aids to help keep the dogs attentive when needed. Would highly recommend.

I had the unfortunate experience of being chased by a lab/pit mix this morning on my bike ride. The good news is that this thing worked but it took a couple of zaps. The dog ran out from the side of house and I zapped it once at about 30 feet away but it kept barking and coming. Then I held the “deterrent” mode” button down and now it was about 10 feet away and shouted at the dog “NO!”. The dog got confused and slowed down (didn’t stop) but got flustered and by that time I was several yards in front of it pedaling on my bike before the dog quit chasing.
So the PROS: It is lightweight and has wrist carrier and is easily rechargeable. The lock and slide button are easy to handle with one hand – useful when you are riding a bike.
CONS: Not so much a con but be aware that this is just a layer of protection and that it won’t stop or immobilize a dog. It does send out a signal that has an effect on a dog but a determined dog could fight through it. The idea is to daze or confuse the dog so that you can get away- at least in my case. You will still have to use good habits like shouting “NO” and have a backup in the event the dog is not flustered by it.
Overall: This is worth the money to have an added layer of protection.

I LOVE this device out of every other one I’ve bought before for these main reasons:
1. It’s easy to use without needing to pull the manual out every time I want to use it cause I can’t remember which switch to use and button to press.
2. This one has the button that beeps for TRAINING. When I tell my dog to come I use the beep button and he comes. Other devices only have different ultrasonic tones which never work. When I want him to stop barking or something I don’t want him to do, I use the ultrasonic button and he immediately stops and goes to his “timeout” area (he puts himself in a timeout corner, I never made him go on timeouts or designate a specific place 🤷🏻♀️)
3. The digital screen is so nice, I love that it doesn’t stay on all the time cause that would be bright and excessive. But it has all the info you need on there, with easy to understand icons unlike the icons other devices use. The icons also match the switch on the side which I also love. There is the lock switch that I find really useful since I’ve had ones that don’t lock and I’ll accidentally sit of the device or something and my poor dog hears the ultrasonic sound forever then panics not knowing what he is doing wrong.
4. I can never remember which button does what on other devices and always need to open Amazon or pull the manual out to remember. These buttons make sense so even if I don’t remember, it’s just common sense which button is the deterrent, beep and torch light.
5. The torch light is so bright and has a flashing option.
6. Battery life. I’ve had this device for well over a month use it often and the battery is still full bars. Love that it tells me that on the screen too!
Bottom line, stop comparing different dog deterrent devices and just buy this one. I bring it everywhere with me, especially when I nanny a 6 month old baby where they have 3 dogs and I bring my dog. I just push the ultrasonic button and it’s immediately silent!

Pretty sure mine was faulty and wouldn’t turn off – don’t know for sure since I can’t actually hear it…
My dog is almost 7 months old – lab – and she DEFINITELY heard it… I did it literally ONE time, then turned it off. She is terrified of the area I used it in now. She’s been hiding in the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom crying for the last hour and, needless to say I will not be using it again and returning it.
She hates firealarms like most dogs but get’s over the sound pretty quickly but doesn’t act this way…
Finally, I just unscrewed the whole thing and pulled the battery out and she stopped whining. Seems like despite it showing as “off” it was indeed, not off and still emitting sound.
